## Improvements

- **Improved UI feedback when uploading files:** There is now more improvements on the file upload feedback in Upload and Chat. The status is now central and more prominent in the page.

- **Shown preview when uploading files in the knowledge base:** When uploading to the knowledge base, it now shows a preview of each file being uploaded. This provides a more intuitive and seamless user experience by integrating the upload status directly into the interface.

- **Hinder user from reloading page when files are being uploaded:** When uploading files in Knowledge Base or Upload & Chat, reloading or navigating away disrupts the upload and prevents proper ingestion. A modal now warns users that leaving the page will interrupt the upload.

- **Interaction Revision During Answer Streaming**

_**For a New Chat**_ **:**

**Automatic Scrolling:**

- Scrolls automatically until the beginning of the answer reaches the top of the page.
  - Then stops auto-scrolling and displays an ARROW DOWN button at the bottom of the visible text.

**Arrow Down Button:**

- **If the answer is still being generated:** Clicking resumes automatic scrolling, and the button disappears.
  - **If the answer is complete:** Clicking scrolls to the end of the response.

_**For Follow-up Questions in an Ongoing Chat**_ **:**

**Automatic Scrolling:**

- Scrolls automatically until the beginning of the new question reaches the top of the page, then stops.
  - Displays an ARROW DOWN button at the bottom of the visible text when more text appears below.

**User Interruptions and Scroll Lock:**

- Manual scrolling up during answer streaming stops automatic scrolling ("scroll lock").
  - The chat window will not pull the user back down, maintaining their position in the conversation history.

- **New series of modules are included**: Support for using the o1 (`AZURE_o1_2024_1217`) and o3 (`AZURE_o3_MINI_2025_0131`) series has been added to the node-chat backend.

- **Enhanced UI for References:**

- References are collapsed by default, displaying only the total count.
  - Users could expand references to reveal their names.
  - A selected reference is highlight and prominently displayed when clicked.
  - Tooltips are added to reference numbers in the chat text to show full reference names.

- **"BETA" label added**: Indicates the current beta version of the File translation feature.

- **CustomInstructions**: Introduced the `customInstruction` field to the Assistant model, enabling user-defined customization for assistant behavior. This field is now included in all messages and dynamically appended to the system prompt.

- **Earnings Call:**

- Improvements in Ticker Detection.
  - Preventing Edge case where an empty list of fiscal periods where passed to the tool call and caused the module to crash.
  - More and better Key Insights Extraction.

- **SearchModule and AgenticSearch**: produces a message if there was an error from the agent.

- **RFP Agent**: Added ability to add custom_columns(Beta)

- **Document Search V2:**

- SourceFormatConfig allows adding metadata at the **chunk level**, improving context for the LLM (but **not** search itself).
  - Metadata can be included in chunks for better contextual awareness.
  - **“document”** and **“info”** are **not** supported as metadata keys.

## Fixes

- **Translate button, Copy and Thumbs up button**: Previously, overlapping text disrupted readability. Now, the background is filled with the Surface color across the entire width of the "Original Text" and “Translation” box to prevent text cutoff.

- **WebSocket connection**: After reconnecting to the network, a new WebSocket connection is established instead of attempting to reuse the old one, as it was closed when the network disconnected.

- **Uploading Images in the Chat:** Images are displayed upon uploading image files in the chat.

- **Streaming**: The Stop button will now disappear once streaming is complete.
  - When the Stop button is visible and a user opens a new space, it will no longer remain visible.
  - After the Stop button is removed, the chat input placeholder will no longer incorrectly display "Generating answer."
